As this Inc. article well illustrates, and frankly we think understates, 60% of business go under after a cyber attack.
As startling as this statistic is, a study conducted by Gartner Group in 2010 found that only 6% of companies stay in business after a loss of data. 43% of companies were immediately put out of business and only 51% remained open after 2 years. According to informed sources these numbers have only gotten dramatically worse since 2010.
Data loss is still a serious threat to your business. Although services like firewalls have improved immensely, this is only one step of many that is needed to properly protect your business.
In our own area we have seen businesses severely impacted by these things as well as connectivity loss resulting from severe winter storms, fires, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes and other disasters.
What are you doing to protect your business? Turning a blind eye or thinking that this can't or won't happen to you is naive.
